Triggered self-assembly of magnetic nanoparticles

Posted by in categories: biotech/medical, nanotechnology, Ray Kurzweil

One of ray kurzweils wonder machines are already here self assembled nanobots called foglet machines. This could allow for future avatars that people could pilot for daily life.

Colloidal magnetic nanoparticles are candidates for application in biology, medicine and nanomanufac-turing. Understanding how these particles interact collectively in fluids, especially how they assemble and aggregate under external magnetic fields, is critical for high quality, safe, and reliable deployment of these particles. Here, by applying magnetic forces that vary strongly over the same length scale as the colloidal stabilizing force and then varying this colloidal repulsion, we can trigger self-assembly of these nanoparticles into parallel line patterns on the surface of a disk drive medium. Localized within nanometers of the medium surface, this effect is strongly dependent on the ionic properties of the colloidal fluid but at a level too small to cause bulk colloidal aggregation.

Ray Kurzweil: Our Brain Is a Blueprint for the Master Algorithm

Posted by in categories: information science, neuroscience, Ray Kurzweil

face_with_colon_three Year 2017

Ray Kurzweil is an inventor, thinker, and futurist famous for forecasting the pace of technology and predicting the world of tomorrow. In this video, Kurzweil suggests the blueprint for the master algorithm—or a single, general purpose learning algorithm—is hidden in the brain.

The brain, according to Kurzweil, consists of repeating modules that self-organize into hierarchies that build simple patterns into complex concepts. We don’t have a complete understanding of how this process works yet, but Kurzweil believes that as we study the brain more and reverse engineer what we find, we’ll learn to write the master algorithm.

What is the next wave after artificial intelligence|The Singularity Is Near|#audiobooks

Posted by in categories: information science, Ray Kurzweil, robotics/AI, singularity, space

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmmaHadPf_Y

This book, ‘The Singularity Is Near’, predicts the future. However, unlike most best-selling futurology books, its author, Kurzweil, is a renowned technology expert. His insights into the future are not technocratic wild fantasies but are rooted in his profound contemplation of technological principles.

This audio informs us that, due to Moore’s Law, the pace of human technological advancement in the future will far exceed our expectations. By 2045, we will reach the technological ‘Singularity’, which will profoundly alter our human condition, and technology may even enable humans to conquer the universe within a millennium.

Stem cells used to create organoids that secrete dental enamel proteins

Posted by in categories: biotech/medical, nanotechnology, Ray Kurzweil, robotics/AI

Organoids have now been created from stem cells to secrete the proteins that form dental enamel, the substance that protects teeth from damage and decay. A multi-disciplinary team of scientists from the University of Washington in Seattle led this effort.

Organiods are the new thing, when you think about how AI, and nanotechnology changed the worldnwe live in, but years from now you will realize it, like all I have predicted since I played with a Kurzweil Keyboard when I was a child.

Scientists Regrow Retinal Cells in The Lab Using Nanotechnology

Posted by in categories: biotech/medical, nanotechnology, neuroscience, Ray Kurzweil, singularity

Still a big maybe but it gives them other ideas/possibilities. Hopefully they succeed soon! My mother has glaucoma. It’ll probably be decades before this cure happens though. Unless it can be accelerated which is predicted by Ray Kurzweil in his book The Singularity is Near. I think other futurists have said similar things though I’m not familiar with all of them, I saw a talk by one for NASA.

In efforts to tackle the leading cause of blindness in developed countries, researchers have recruited nanotechnology to help regrow retinal cells.

Macular degeneration is a form of central vision loss, which has massive social, mobility, and mental consequences. It impacts hundreds of millions of people globally and is increasing in prevalence.

Gen Z’s digital natives will seem old-fashioned next to ‘Gen A,’ the first A.I. native generation, BofA says

Posted by in categories: education, Ray Kurzweil, robotics/AI

Just as Ray Kurzweil predicted in the book The Age of Spiritual Machines.

The analysts cited Timothy Papandreou, an advisor to Alphabet’s research and development organization, X (formerly GoogleX), who explained at a recent event that A.I. will lead to a transition from a generation of programmers to a generation of “perfect prompters” as kids learn to utilize generative A.I. “assistants” throughout their lives.

Gen A won’t need programming skills to use their A.I models, instead they will work to properly prompt these systems with simple text to get the desired outcome, whether that’s finding information about Kafka for a school paper or writing an email at work.
